Yep thats right.. 210 4th and 5th graders from Emma's school went skiing today. Crazy! Overall tho the school was very organized and the kids had a blast. Amazingly there was only one minor injury too! All the kids had their hats, mittens (those thin stretch gloves don't work so well), snow pants, snow boots, ski boots, ski's, lift tickets, lunches... oh my! Part of the lift ticket included lessons for everyone which I thought was very helpful for the kids and the adults! For the more experienced skiers like Emma she just had to take a test through some cones on the bunny hill and was able to go anywhere she wanted on the hill.
Grandpa Nichols skied with Emma and the other kids while I stayed in the chalet helping other parents monitor the kids from the inside. However Rockford pretty much inhabited the whole ski hill. All the kids had to be on the bus at 1:30 but those who had parents attend could stay with their parents and ski longer, so we did. Some of Emma's friends also stayed so they could all skied for a couple more hours. It was amazing how quickly the kids caught on to the concept of skiing. Several of Emma's friends were off the bunny hill and skiing with Emma on the bigger hills. Overall it was a good time and Emma snoozed in the backseat all the way home! As for me, tonight I'm roasting in front of the fireplace trying to get rid of the chill. Hey the chalet was drafty!
