Whew what a weekend

Friday night we drove up north to Grandma & Grandpa Hawley's to celebrate the February birthdays (Cousin Olivia, Darin and Uncle Cory). When we arrived Uncle Cory and Uncle Ray were anxious to setup a surprise for Grandpa Hawley. They had bought his fathers day present early and couldn't wait until June to give him a giant flat screen TV. Their plan was to wait until Grandpa went to sleep and then transform the living room. Once he retired for the day they started packing the books and clearing the space for the new TV. Surprisingly Grandpa never heard the ruckus they were making. The next morning they surprised him with the new TV mounted on the wall. See the pictures to see the transformation. He was very surprised the next morning when he peaked into the living room to see what cartoons the grandkids were watching!

Saturday afternoon the rest of the crew came over for lunch and cake. Cousin Olivia turned 3 and she was so entertaining to watch her open her gifts with glee. Grandma Hawley had bought some face paints so the girls painted each others face. They were so creative.

It was a short trip up north and we drove back home Saturday evening because it was my turn to teach sunday school the next morning. It was funny because Bronson was very quiet at Grandma's house, I don't think he barked a single time. But the moment we got home he jumped out of the van and barked and barked. I think he was letting the squirrels and birds know he was home and they better watch out!

Sunday afternoon Emma had a dance performance for Just For Kix in Delano. It was a showcase show of the surrounding cities with Just For Kix. It was also a prep performance for her competition next weekend. She did a wonderful job! Darin wasn't feeling well with a stomach bug, he managed to sit thru until she performed but then went out to lay in the van until the show was done. I was very proud of Emma and Kate who sat quietly in the stands alone for the second half of the show while I helped with admissions. We rewarded them with a treat at the DQ after. :)
