Merry Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas!
We had a whirlwind of Christmas's over the past 4 days. 3 to be exact. It was great to see everyone if only for a short time and get together.

On Christmas Eve our family celebrated Christmas at home. We opened gifts right away in the morning. Then we spent the rest of the day playing with them. The big hit was the Wii game station. Rockband is definatly the favorite. Kate and I found it somewhat difficult but we eventually got the hang of it. Kate loves to bang on the drums and Emma suprised us with how well she is at singing.

Christmas Day we woke up and got in the van to head to the Nichols Christmas in Deerwood. We tried something new this year by playing the white elephant game. This brought some controversy over a quilt that Ben and Grandma Nichols wanted and Emma ended up with! It was a lot of fun. We also had a delicious Turkey dinner that Grandma worked hard at all day. The kids played outside on the ice that Grandpa always clears and rode the 4 wheelers.

Friday we headed home again to prepare for the Hawley Christmas on Saturday. Some family members came on Friday. Uncle Cory and Uncle Ray made some amazing pizza that took 4 hours to make. but ohhh is was worth it. Saturday the rest of the clan arrived. We had planned on doing a lot of sliding and skating in our backyard but the day before had melted much of the snow and then overnight froze an icy layer over the remaining snow. So we spent most of the time inside playing games and visiting. Uncle Cory made a beautiful Crown Roast and all the soups and appetizers were so yummy.

We are looking forward to the week ahead with the girls off school and I've cleared my schedule. We are looking forward to New Years Eve as we always fun spending with our friends the Peichels. We may even try to get some downhill skiing in and a trip to the science museum.

Happy Holidays everyone!
